Casselman River Bridge
When it was built in 1813, this 80-foot single-span stone arch bridge was the longest of its kind in the world. An important link on the National Road, a major thoroughfare for westward travelers, the bridge was in use until 1933. It was restored in the mid-1950s and is now the central feature of four-acre Casselman River Bridge State Park, just east of Grantsville in Garrett County, Maryland.
